Step 1
We assess the basement flood situation. Upon arrival, we take safety precautions such as making sure electric power is shut down, and then track the source of the water entering your basement. If you haven’t done so already, we stop the flow of further water into your basement and put a temporary fix on the leak or broken pipe.

For health and safety reasons, we test and identify the type of water that is flooding your basement. Because basement flood water can come from any number of sources—a burst pipe, a broken hot water heater, an overflowing toilet, or outside stormwater, for example—it can contain different levels of bacteria and contaminants. By identifying the water, we then determine the proper course of action for extraction and cleanup.

Our next step is to classify the flood according to the extent of the damage in terms of the amount of water in your basement and the level of dampness. We examine every space of your basement: walls and insulation, carpeting and furnishings, closed-off storage areas, and exposed surfaces such as concrete.
